Here’s what we watched yesterday afternoon, on our faux big screen TV setup.
Actually, it’s more like a home theatre.
Yes, we curled up and watched the classic film, “A Christmas in Connecticut.” It looked great, projected about six feet wide.
Here’s how we did this, without a big screen TV.
First, we have a Miroir 600 projector. It’s connected to our Roku streaming device. (On Christmas Day, we streamed “Christmas in Connecticut” via Netflix.) We use this to watch favorite movies and TV shows, year ’round.
Though this works pretty well projected onto a wall in our home, we’re using a portable projection screen. It’s 100 inches wide, and attached to a large backdrop stand. The latter is hardware intended for “green screen” use and other backdrops in our home studio.
This combination is less expensive — and more easily set up, taken down, and moved — than a big screen TV.
In fact, when we have our next home, we plan to set this up in our backyard to show movies to friends and family.
It works great!
